OUR FOCUS

OUR FOCUS

What is musculoskeletal Physiotherapy?

Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy is our area of expertise. An MSK physiotherapist specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. These conditions affect the muscles, tendons, bones, joints, ligaments, other connective tissues, and their interaction with the nervous system. Also referred to as Neuromusculoskeletal (NMSK) physiotherapy, this domain was historically regarded as Orthopaedic physiotherapy. Note that the professions of Physiotherapy (eg. UK, RSA, Canada, Aus/NZ) and Physical Therapy (eg. USA) are one and the same, and merely international name variants. Physiotherapist scope of practice excludes prescribing medication or injecting.
